 | One of the weak points of the A-Type Overdrive is the Planet Gear Center
thrust washer. The stock thrust washer is .090 thick with oil relief
slots that are cut .050, leaving the thrust washer only .040 thick in those
areas, making it very prone to failure. |
 | At British Sports Car Works we've solved this problem by boring the
Planet Gear Carrier .100 deeper and producing an uprated thrust washer that is
.190 thick. This modification is done on all of our rebuilds whether the
original thrust washer is intact or not. |
